Things I Want
I was thinking today that I need to make a list of things I want. I always think I’ll remember when I actually have a bit of extra cash to spend, but, yet… I never do. I end up blowing my wad (yeah, right - WAD) on impulse buys and it’s time to start setting little goals for myself.
What got me thinking about these things is the overtime check is coming tomorrow and I’ve been acting as if it’s a year’s worth of pay. Granted, I’m making in one week what I usually make in two, but the cable/dsl/elec bill is due - whoa…
The electric. I won’t even tell you how high it is for fear you’d all simultaneously open your checkbooks in woedom for me. Seriously, people, it almost made me bawl when I peeked in the envelope. I didn’t even open it all the way. Took a peek, shed a tear, shoved it in my purse in one fell swoop.
So, it’s not like I’ll be buying all of these things come Friday afternoon - but there’s no harm in some goals, no?
Which reminds me, completely randomly, of when I was at the gas station earlier this week. Right after I pulled up this guy rolls up in a 300M. The one that tries to look like a Bentley but falls short. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with a 300M, but it sho’ ain’t no Bentley.
I can feel the 300M driver’s eyes upon me as I got out of my car (a Civic, since you asked) and the entire time I walk in the store. I sort of almost dressed up that day and I sort of almost noticed that I was a bit more productive at work. Uh-huh! I know!
I hurriedly pay and rush out so I can start pumping the gas and get out of there. Dude walks out and says, “You should have waited, I was going to… pump your gas for you.”
Oh, go on and WOO me why don’t you. I’m simply bowled over by this display of chivalry. It was amusing to me, like I can’t pump my own gas. What am I gonna do next time I need to fill up? Call the dude up and be like: Meet me on the corner of 32nd and Van Buren, I need gas… AGAIN.
I thought for a moment he was going to offer to PAY for the gas. Not that I would have let him, no really! But, pump it? Yeah, okay. Psssht.
Wow. Between R fronting the money to get the MK out of hock and expecting complete strangers to buy my gas, I’m sounding like a gold digger, huh? Shame on me.
Back to things I want.

- White dinnerware. I know it may seem boring but Nicole has all white dinnerware and it looks so crisp and clean. WANT.

- A new camera. There’s a small chance Lil’ Pinkie’s not broken like I think she’s broken but, chances are, that bee is broken. I don’t want anything fancy. I certainly don’t need a DSLR or any of that business. Why? I haven’t the patience. No really, NO PATIENCE.

- Perfume. I don’t know which one but I’m sick of every single one I own. I’ve been wearing a Burberry R got for me long ago but that’s more out of nostalgic purposes than anything.

- Re-do the kid’s bedroom. Not like that picture but… I really wanted to get this done before he begins high school, since he’s beginning high school! You know, be focused in nice surroundings and all that. Problem is, I also want to move (lease is up Sept. 8th) and I’m not too sure how smart it is to buy new BIG shit I have to turn around and move right away.

- A new TV. Believe it or don’t, I mostly want to do this so I can retire the living room set to the kid’s room so he has something larger to play his games on. I know, SUCKER.

- Jo and Slade to go back to their jobs before reality TV unearthed them so we won’t be subjected to them anymore.
We all can dream, can’t we? What are some things on your wish list?

I hate pumping gas. Anyone who offers can go right ahead! I’ll be waiting in the car. Just tap the window when you’re done, mmkay? LOL
I would like new dishes. I haven’t seen anything I love yet but I’m sooo over the BLUE ROOSTER dishes we have now. I don’t know what I was thinking when I let Beetle pick them out. I mean, they’re a big cock in the center… and it’s blue. A blue cock. In the middle of my plate. It’s disturbing.

Mmm… Burberry is yum! My mum gave me a full bottle of hand-me-down burberry. I’m so allergic I hardly wear it though :/ The lawyer likes it too… And I have the white dinner set too, but it’s not a very nice one, they were discounted WAY down though, score! I have a constant list, at the moment I have camera, sunglasses, teeth whitening, hair straigtener, passport and bag on it. And also a dentist and a haircut. It’s pretty sad when you have to put dentist on your ‘if only I could have a week with some spare cash’ list. Although a little RE-prioritision might help me get in there sooner ;-)

Dude! I’m so with you on the electric bill. You know I live in the Phoenix area too and I know what you mean when you say it’s hot as a mother here! We run our AC too much. That and both of our computers always on… I won’t be shy- our last bill was almost 300 bucks!!! Shoot me now!

Ok I hate pumping gas too, but you know I grew up in P-Town and when I moved up this way and drove through OR, that gas pumping thing it tripped me out, I went running out to him because I didn’t want to pay him to pump for me and in PHX back then that was considered, “full” service and that meant you paid. LOL The nice OR man broke it down for me and proceeded to answer my next 20 (and annoying I am sure) questions about why this was down, how long, how interesting, blah blah.
I remember those electric bills girl and I can’t believe what I paid for electric in my apt. But you know what you need that a/c. I bought a toaster oven so I could use that instead of my reg oven since it was just me and Micah was a baby/toddler.
I set the I “want” goals all the time. I actually have made notebooks with it for years, I pull adds/pics and tape them in the notebook. I know, I am strange.
Now that I have written a novel, have a fabulous weekend!!!

I remember the dread I felt every time the SRP bill arrived to the house in Tempe. Oh it was dreadful. Well over $400. Insane!!!
As for cameras, I love mine! It’s a DSLR-like cam,a Fuji Finepix S9600. Basically it does everything the DSLRs do, but it only cost me $209 at Wally World!

I am right with ya there on the cooling bill sister! However, I do find that with the humidity as high as it is now, I can set the thermostat all the way up to 78 degrees because it feels absolutely chilly coming into the house now from the dewey outside. On my wish list is clothes that fit as my muffin top seems to be growing to the size of the Costco muffins, not the muffins I make at home :(

I want all white dishes, too. I love that you can buy pieces anywhere and they all match.
I can’t rationalize spending the money though, because I already have tons of dishes.

I want a new tv, too. My living room tv is too quiet. I can never hear it which sucks when I have company. I want to move that one in the bedroom, move the one from the bedroom to my mama’s house…
want, want, want.
(I like the 300’s)
