Quick like bunnies

Portland trip in a nutshell: Met my 6 week old great-nephew (bliss), hung out with fam, celebrated one of my brother’s birthdays, hung out here (cool place) with my niece, drank fabulous coffee, bought some wine at the airport, left my phone charger (I knew that was going to happen).

When I arrived home from the airport on Sunday night, it was to a pristine abode. I’m talking about when you open the front door, you wonder if you are in the right apartment.

Not that we live like pigs every other day, but, R really outdid himself before he left. He even changed out a burnt out light bulb in the hallway which I hadn’t mentioned to him. Yes, I knew about it and no, I hadn’t changed it myself. My bug phobia was preventing me from reaching into the sconce to replace the bulb. Shut up.

The small things R does are what make me feel really loved. I miss him.

I didn’t think I was that tired from my weekend trip but the 3 hour nap I took after I got home from work yesterday dictates otherwise.

It wasn’t my turn to pick up the kid, but, I made him come over to get a bug out of the washer. Yes it was dead, because I killed it (by turning the washer on) but the aforementioned bug phobia would not allow me to scoop out the yucky thing.

I rewarded the teen with Subway for dinner.

That $5 foot long business at Subway is quite a racquet. I looked at the receipt and I saved .89 cents a sandwich. BIG WHOOP.

I’m eating the leftovers at my desk. Not bad. Not bad at all. Still not a SMOKIN’ DEAL that annoying ass commercial would have you believe. Sniff.

Finally got my Bare Minerals order from sephora.com yesterday. LOVE. Serious love. I don’t think I’ve ever liked a makeup more. Except for that Bonne Bell bubble gum lip gloss I had back when I was 10  - and that’s only because I didn’t know any better.

Look forward to a quiet week and even quieter weekend. I need it.

Can I go home and play with my makeup now?

LOL @ Subway. You’d think by the lines hanging out the door that it was a big savings. I must admit, I was bamboozled by the lines and quickly decided I must take advantage of this $5 sub. I feel so dirty now. ;)

I bought Bare Minerals too! I bought the Fairly Light/Light Starter kit but think it might be too dark for my ghostly skin. Also, I noticed after a while that my face started to break out after wearing it. I think that revver upper stuff is to blame so if you start to break out, you might want to skip that part and just go with your regular moisturizer instead.

You know they sell BE at Target now…well some of that. Know that I will be picking up the Moxie kit I have covetted for a year..it will be mine oh yes it will be mine.

R is wonderful, thats the only time my husband cleans is when I am out of town, which is never so. Hmmmm.

I bought the $5 sub only because if you buy a 6 in, it’s almost $5, WTH?? So I looked at as getting more food. LOL

I loved your Portland pics, come to Seattle next ehem!

Both me and my sister’s face broke out from the rever upper as well. Once we stopped using that no more issues ….

I couldn’t figure out that Rever Upper stuff. I was surprised to see all of the active ingredients in it, which may be the cause of so many breaking out. It just seems like something else they can get you to buy, I’m perfectly fine using my Oil of Olay when this runs out, if I use it at all.

    Thanks ladies!

Inga & Friglet: Try the BM before buying. Not everyone likes it. :D

I adore my BM. I bought the starter kit at Sephora and then went to the BM store for a workup before the wedding and bought like, the entire store! LOL.

I adore their brushes. I think I have damn near every one of them. My biggest tip is that the bisque crap really doesn’t do a whole lot to cover up (they market it as a concealer). Just use a smaller and smaller brush in the foundation and pat it on any imperfections and it blends like a dream.

I could talk (type) about BM for hours I think!

Portland is beautiful. I always thought I would fit in there. Have fun playing with your makeup!

I came on here to see if you reported back about BM. Thats it, I am buying some!

Glad you had fun in Portland!

BTW Angel, we simply must meet on one of these trips we’ll be on!

Corey, the concealer isn’t in the starter kit but I was really surprised how well the regular stuff covers up, if you keep applying. LOVE IT.

Kari, Portland is wonderful. You’d love it.

S: Buy it! Buy it now (but try it first).
